Elara Development:

Builders ACT

Ruiz Constructions was engaged by B&T Constructions to manage the building of the Elara Development in Bruce, which resulted in 120 residential units and three commercial suites.

The development consisted of four buildings with three levels above ground and a large 250 car split-level basement underground.

The units themselves were built on top of a 7000m2 suspended basement slab, while the podium, constructed of pre-tensioned concrete beams, consisted of 35 different finished levels which could only be accessed via a permanently stationed 55 ton mobile crane. This setup posed several challenges for the project, among them site access and materials handling.

Ruiz Constructions’ scope of work involved project management of a high order from the ground up, including management of the tenders and sub-contracts, and overall site supervision of several parties involved over the course of the complex project.
